After driving for owners Rick Hendrick
(in the #5 All Star Racing and #5
Hendrick Motorsports Levi Garrett Chevy),
Junior Johnson (Budweiser Ford) and Bud
Moore (Motorcraft Ford), filled
dual
role of owner-driver after
purchasing Alan Kulwicki Racing in May
of
1993 and carried various sponsorships
that year.
Carried Exide Batteries
sponsorship in 1994 - 1995 and QVC in
1996 - 1997 on his Ford, but sold
majority interest in team in
1997 to Jim Mattei and John Porter.
Sponsored by Philips in 1998, Geoff sold
remainder of interest in team to Jim
Mattei in August 1998.
Signed on to drive the #60 Power Team
Chevrolet, owned by Joe Bessey, in
December 1998.
Switched to Hendrick
Motorsports engines for 2000 for more speed
and reliability.
On February 18, 2000 Geoffrey was the
victim in one of the most horrific crashes
in NASCAR history while driving in the Craftsman
Truck race at Daytona. He was not seriously injured, but missed the first
third of the 2000 season.
Was shamefully released from the #60 by
Joe Bessey on September 11, 2000, just
weeks after being asked by Bessey to stay
on for the remainder of the year. Bessey
provided terrible cars for the 2000 season,
with the exception of a car for Richmond.
Road course and superspeedway cars could not
even qualify for races.
On June 5, 2001 was tapped to replace Tim Fedewa as driver of the Cicci-Welliver Phillips 66 Chevrolet
in the Busch Grand Natonal Series for the remainder
of the 2001 season.
Aquired Miccosukee Resort sponsorship for all
2002 Daytona, Talladega and Homestead races, as
well as Indianapolis, Phoenix and Atlanta (fall) for car owner James Finch's Phoenix Racing.
Finished a surprising third in the 2002 Daytona 500
Parted ways with Miccosukee and Phoenix Racing after 2002 season. Planned on taking 2003 off but decided to run brother Brett's Hooters car in 2003 Bud Shootout for R & D purposes, since Geoffrey had a lifetime pre-qualified status due to winning that
event in 1992. Also committed to run a few races in
the Craftsman Truck Series for owner A.L. Thompson
Selected by Team EJP Racing owner Steve Prescott to drive the #03 Chevrolet Silverado in the Craftsman Truck Series for 2004
Inducted into the "Legends of the Glen"
at Watkins Glen in September 1999.

Speedway in track record 197.478 mph in
November '97, fastest qualifying lap
