"Middle" of the three Bodine Brothers (Geoffrey and Todd).

Made Winston Cup debut in 1986 Coca-Cola 600 in Rick Hendrick-owned #2 Exxon Chevy, finishing 17th.

Began racing Winston Cup full-time in 1988 in the Crisco #11 Ford, with car owner Bud Moore after successful career in NASCAR Busch Series.

Ran Busch Grand National in 1985 with Robert Gee in the #5 Levi Garrett Chevy, winning three races.

Runner-up for Busch Series championship in 1986 as well as most popular driver.

Winston Cup debut was in the 1986 World 600 driving for Rick Hendrick as a teamate with brother Geoff.

Drove 5 seasons for car owner Kenny Bernstein (1990-94) in the #26 Quaker State Buick before spending the '95 season with Junior Johnson in the #11Lowes Ford.

Purchased the Junior Johnson team in 1996.

Sponsored by Close Call phone service in 1997.

Picked up Paychex as sponsor for 1998 - 1999

Shattered Indy qualifying record at 49.704 seconds (181.072 MPH) on August 4, 2000

Acquired new sponsor for the 2000 and 2001 seasons - Ralph's Supermarkets. Also hired Mike Hillman as Crew Chief in 2002 and switched from Ernie Elliott engines to Robert Yates engines.

Took on Wells Fargo Financial and Timberland Pro as associate sponsors for 2002 and raced without a primary sponsor for the first two races before taking on Hooters as primary sponsor.

Decided to run a limited schedule in 2003 in order to regroup and better prepare his racecars due to limited sponsorship funds

Hooters left as sponsor at the end of June, 2003, citing poor performance.

His best career finish in point standings came in 1990 when he placed 12th and had 9 top-10s.

Won his only NASCAR Winston Cup event that season, capturing spring race at North Wilkeboro in his 80th start.

Also earned his first pole later that year at Mello Yello 500 in Charlotte.

Started racing hobby cars at Chemung Speedrome in '77.

Drove modifieds in Northeast 1980-84.

Won 1984 track championship at Stafford (CT) Motor Speedway as one of the Top-50 modified drivers off all time.

Won 1985 Modified Race of Champions at Pocono Raceway.

Inducted into Modified Hall of Fame (Stafford, CT) in 1998.

Was called on to drive in relief for Terry Labonte in Junior Johnson-owned Budweiser Chevrolet twice in 1987 (North Wilkesboro and Bristol, both top-ten finishes).

Made impressive debut with car owner Hoss Ellington in 1987, winning pole for Winston Open, then qualified 9th for '87 Coca-Cola 600.
