Son of famous NASCAR star Geoffrey Bodine, Barry cut his teeth in racing Go-Karts in the early 1990's.
After making his NASCAR Craftdman Truck Series debut in 1995, at Martinsville in 1995, he worked as Geoffrey's CTS crew chief through 1996 and also competed in CTS races through 1998.
Made his Busch Grand National debut at Homestead in 1998 and competed in two BGN races in 1999 and also served as spotter for Geoffrey in 1999.
After Geoffrey's horrific crash in the inaugural Craftsman Truckrace, at Daytona, in 2000, Barry drove the #15 Line-X Ford for several races.
In 2001, Barry started the season behind the wheel of the Impact Motorsports, Inc. #25 Dodge, at Daytona.
Ran three CTS races for EJP Motorsports in 2002
